Bob's Classy Lady

Scotty Schwartz flexed his arm and invited people to pound his muscled chest. Man, the kid is in shape. Unfortunately Scotty wasn't a pole dancer at Bob's Classy Lady Thursday night but tons of other female performers from the industry were, in a special fund raiser that filled the house and will be the first of many scheduled in coming months to bolster the Free Speech wars. Ron Jeremy was emcee and both Kylie Ireland and Juli Ashton served as hosts for an evening that featured dancing, raffles, panty auctions and polaroids with the stars. nnScott Tucker of Topco, one of the event's organizers explains. nnTucker: "We've been working on this event since the AVN conference in Hawaii. Marty Turkel, Steve Orenstein, Joy King and Francia Hinrichs [a Topco Sales employee who's also a Free Speech Coalition liaison] have been getting together. Francia is my lobbyist that I hired to lobby for the Free Speech Coalition. She's been involved in fund raising and event planning. nn"We have met at Topco sales a number of times. Juli Ashton, Lucky Smith, Kylie Ireland, Brian Berber and Susan Colvin have also been involved. nn"In Hawaii a few people raised their hands to be involved with the planning of this first event at Bob's Classy Lady. I volunteered my offices and we've been doing the whole bagels, lox and cream cheese parties. Eddie Wedelstedt flew in from Colorado last weekend to attend our last meeting before the event. Topco made the staff badges and VIP badges after we decided we needed badges, after we decided there would be a VIP room for those who were making large contributions. My staff did the artwork for the polaroid picture giveaway and the entrance ticket giveaway. We decided as a group how much money to spend on advertising. nn"Joy King at Wicked Pictures was definitely an integral person in that planning. She and Juli Ashton spent a weekend discussing the timing of the event and how the models would work and what their timing would be. Francia was also designated as official note taker of the event. nn"We decided as a group at the Hawaii conference that we wanted to try and raise some money and the money would go towards educating, toward doing a study to find out about secondary effects and whether they're a farce or if they truly exist. A real study costs some money. The group decided they wanted to go forward with that. We got Bob's Classy Lady to give us the door and that's how this event occured. There's talk about doing another show close to the AVN Vegas show, or close to the Night of the Stars, or some other big event. nn"The goal here is to get the word out, that freedom of speech, zoning and censorship and all these different things are in jeopardy in this country based on the way that our laws work."
