Bob Tremont Golf Tournament Proves Challenging, Fun

With an impressive round of 56 Sunday at the sixth annual Bob Tremont Memorial Golf Tournament, the team of Greg Alves, Vince Miller, Gary Pina and Gregg Alan won the lowest gross score award. Alves, president of Zero Tolerance, was part of the winning group for the second straight year at the event that is part of the Free Speech Coalition's "Night of the Stars" weekend.

This year the scramble was contested at the beautiful Braemar Country Club in Tarzana. Fifteen foursomes from all different aspects of adult entertainment industry entered the best-ball competition. The Free Speech Coalition handed out trophies for both the lowest net score (after a specialized Braemar handicap), and lowest gross score (before handicap).

Brian Berber, Jim Nitz, Dennis Paradise and David Fisher netted a 55 on the course, and snagged second place in the net score competition, while Burt Silverstein, Jimi Egizi and Joe Korn won the trophy for lowest net score, with a 53.4.

The AVN team of Gary Miller, Jesse Dena, Dan Miller and Thomas Stanton came in with a respectable 75 gross score and a 56.6 net score. Awards were also given out for a closest to the pin contest, as well as the longest drive of the afternoon.

Braemar boasts two 18-hole courses and the tournament was held on the 5,839 yard Guldhal (West) Course. The challenging course, full of steep hills and valleys, is a 72 par lynx. Each team was given two carts, a boxed lunch, and a gift bag filled with complimentary balls, tees, the July issue of AVN, and a Free Speech Coalition ball shammy.

Four hours after the 1 o’clock tee off, teams started filing back into the club house to see the results. The tournament was concluded with a live auction and a prime rib dinner, as the Free Speech Coalition auctioned off shirts, hats and golf rounds for four at the Braemar Country Club.

Organized in 1991, the Free Speech Coalition is the trade association of the adult entertainment industry. The FSC is funded by membership dues as well as by fundraising efforts.
