Black Magic Pictures Presents America's Next Ghetto Superstar

On Jan. 31, new ethnic label Black Magic Pictures will issue its debut release, America's Next Ghetto Superstar.

"Our mission is to make quality black product," said Greg Blank of parent company Samtin, Inc., which also houses the long-running Sticky Video and Shooting Star labels. "It seems like there are more companies getting into this niche, but no one's really dominating it. We feel that it's a good market for us, and that we can provide the type of product that this niche has been missing."

Directed by Kangpin, America's Next Ghetto Superstar features a mix of established stars and fresh faces. The cast includes Nyomi Banxxx, Plesure Bunny, Sunshine, Dena Clay and 99.

"We obviously had our choice of a lot of people to go with for our production, and after seeing Kangpin work, we knew he was the one," Blank said. "He keeps it real; he's from the hood, and we're going for reality-based product. We cast guys like Byron Long, Devlin Weed and Brock Adams – solid black performers who know how to get the job done. Using good male talent is the key to bringing out these scenes; we're going for authenticity."

Black Magic initially plans to release two titles per month. "For right now, we're going to concentrate on all-black product," Blank said. "Our next release for February is Kangpin's Big Booty Trick Hunt; it's all about the biggest, baddest booties in the world. We will also be doing an interracial series with black guys and white girls. As the line develops and we get feedback, we might get into producing other ethnic-themed videos."
