Big Top Productions Finds Top-Heavy is the Way to Go

-- When the supply is low and the demand is high, prices soar. There is no question that the demand for graphic adult entertainment is at an all-time high, and the public still craves more. Prices are, for the most part, competitive. Though there is no shortage of quality product at a lower price, Big Top Video, which has acquired a sizable chunk of the market, is charging top dollar. "What exactly is it about Big Top Video that causes the customer to pay more," you might ask, "and why is it worth it?" \n Companies come and companies go; there is never a dearth of fly-by-night operations to take advantage of the unsuspecting consumer. Big Top Video, though, has passed the test of time. In 1976, Crazy Sam Xavier, who was working at Parliament News, decided that no one in the adult entertainment industry was adequately focusing attention upon the particulars of fetishism. In the interest of specialization, big breasts, a major male fixation, became the focal point of Sam's attention. Sam began a mail order business for the European magazine Bazooms and also had a handful of film reels available to the buyer. The success of this debut was overwhelming, and H&S Sales (now Xavier Productions) was born. \n In 1982, in the interest of diversification, Big Top Video was formed. A division of H&S Sales that was timed to coincide with the major wave of the video revolution, Big Top Video also produces tapes geared towards legs and feet, hirsute women, pregnant and lactating women, mature women, plump women and ethnic women, but it is the genre of big bust videos that remains the staple of the empire. Their stock contains over 150 big bust videos, including four AVN Award winners.\n "Big Top Video and Xavier Productions put out a specialty video product found nowhere else in the world," said Xavier, explaining the reasoning behind his company¼s price structure. „The girls have breasts ranging in size from larger than normal (DD) to breasts so enormous the girls have spent tens of thousands on implants and custom-made lingerie and clothes. Mainstream porn can use just about any model they like if she can fuck and suck well. I require women who not only can meet that criteria but also have breasts large enough to meet the demands of our viewers, retail and wholesale alike. The talent is difficult to come by and anything but a dime a dozen. What we may lack in high-gloss production quality compared to giants like Vivid or Metro, we more than make up for in commodity and talent with such blockbuster babes as Lisa Lipps, Wendy Whoppers, Tiffany Towers, Traci Topps, Danni Ashe, Chloe Vevrier, Letha Weapons, Kayla Kleevage, Minka, Busty Dusty, Europe DiChan, SaRenna Lee, and many many more.\n "We also commission the talent of directors who know and understand the fetish of breasts," Sam continued, „and that means knowing how to direct the girls properly and where to point the camera. It's true, our videos are not for everybody. Only the true lover of big tits will be able to understand and appreciate our product. And our success over the past 20-plus years shows they are more than willing to pay a few extra bucks for what I can give them. We are the Tiffany's of big bust." Some of the directors commonly used by Xavier include David "Pussyman" Christopher, Viv Thomas, John Graham, Wild Bill, Lance Kincaid and Tim Hammill.\n The customers, whether distributors or retail sellers, are definitely satisfied. Frank and John of Downtown Books in Boston gush, "A specialty video that gives the customer exactly what he wants. When you mention 'Big Top,' you know you're at the top!" Andy at IVD notes that Big Top offers a "good specialty line that is fairly exclusive. It holds its value real well. It's not just thrown out there for three bucks. [It] commands a high value in the market place. It's set aside from all the other stuff. We love carrying Big Top!" Don't forget about the customer service angle either. A Tucson mail order customer writes: "I would like to thank everyone at H&S Sales for a wonderful job and for the constant mailings that remind me of the vast collection that you have. I would also like to say that your efficient processing of orders and personal integrity is something to be admired from a business aspect. Keep up the great work... "\n According to Robyn Powers, Executive Vice President of Xavier Productions, "Although there isn't a guy out there who can't appreciate the beauty of big busts, Sam to this day still shakes his head at the realization that nobody had ever really cornered that niche market, a fact clearly supported by the enormous success all of his companies have enjoyed since the first ad for Bazooms Magazine was placed in 1976."
