Big Budget Production From Simon Wolf Currently Underway

Simon Wolf Productions is currently in production on That Bitch Ate My Witch, a big-budget romantic comedy written by Simon Wolf that combines the company’s hallmarks of special effects and storyline.

That Bitch Ate My Witch has budget of $91,000 – approximately three times higher than that of the average adult feature.

John Chambliss, Simon Wolf Productions’ CEO, explained the rationale behind spending so much on a feature in today’s predominately gonzo market:

“Simon has written the perfect script to further strengthen our positioning within the expanding international couples and female markets. It delivers a really nice love story that embodies his wicked sense of humor, some delightfully new young women, and an array of extraordinary special effects.”

According to Chambliss, Simon Wolf generally spends more per feature than most companies, but That Bitch Ate My Witch required more than the norm to cover the costs of the special effects, which require extra attention both during production and in post-production.

As an example, Chambliss tells about one of the videos key shots, a scene where a wolf morphs into one of the main characters, a warlock. The shot required the wolf to stop running, turn around and look over its shoulder, as if someone were calling out to it telepathically.

“The wolf won’t do anything we want him to do. Finally, we get him running, but we can’t get him to turn. It was supposed to take two and a half hours; instead, it took six,” Chambliss said.

That doesn’t include the time that will be required in post-production to make the shot look perfect, but Chambliss feels that Simon Wolf’s willingness to spend both the time and the money is what separates this company from others.

“If I spend a few more bucks on a video and make a show that women can watch and not be embarrassed while watching, and that men can watch and not be embarrassed because their wife is embarrassed, then that’s money well spent — and that’s money that will come back me,” Chambliss said.

That Bitch Ate My Witch is on the second day of their five-day production schedule.

Tiffany Taylor, August, Courtney, Sammie, Brandy and Isabella play witches in the feature. Chambliss was particularly impressed with the efforts of Taylor.

Newcomer Tiffany Taylor plays a

witch in Simon Wolf's new feature.

“I think everyone is just going to fall in love with Tiffany Taylor, who is one of the most gorgeous girls I've ever met," he said.

“Simon prefers setting relatively unknown young women as his female leads, thus offering fresh new talent to international audiences that grow bored with seeing the same faces and bodies,” Robert Herrera, production chief at Simon Wolf Productions, said of the women cast in the feature.

The major male leads will feature Chris Cannon, Joey Ray and Randy Spears, each of whom exemplifies Simon Wolf’s attitude toward his male casts.

“It is imperative that the men be handsome and charismatic for the all-important female viewers, be able to step into the characters I create, and possess sexual stamina.”

Robert Herrera will produce That Bitch Ate My Witch, with Bud Lee directing and Jack Remy heading photography. Principal photography commences this week on location in Malibu.

The feature is set for a January 31 wholesale release in the United States through Pure Play Media, Simon Wolf’s domestic distributor.

Chambliss was enthusiastic regarding Pure Play’s roles as Simon Wolf’s wholesale distributor, a deal that began in May.

“When we decided to exit domestic wholesale this past May, the pricing policies guiding our sales were a mess — a situation that Pure Play Media has successfully turned around.

“Sieg Badke and Drew Dixon dug in and have performed ‘miracles’ in a very short period of time — and I am very grateful to Richard Arnold for the solid support his fine organization has given Simon Wolf.”
