The second annual Best Adult Awards ceremony will be held at Qwebec Expo September 3.
Expo organizers call the show the adult webmaster community's "very own Oscar ceremony," honoring the best websites and webmasters, though with a pared-down category list for 2005.
The categories will include Best Amateur Site (single), Best Anal Sex Site, Best Fetish Site, Best Lesbians Site, Best Mature Site, Best Porn Star/Model Site, Best Reality Site, Best Teen Site, Best Tranny Site, Best Gay Site, Best Affiliate Program Site, Best Resources Site, Female Personality of the Year, Male Personality of the Year, Female Model of the Year, and Adult Company of the Year.
Best Adult Awards spokesman Michael P said they dropped a number of award categories – including Best BBW, AVS Service, Anime, Amateurs (Multiple), Cumshots, Ethnic, Foreign Language, Free Site, Gay MegaSite, Gay Reality, Mature, Megasite, Reality, Retail, Webmaster Board, and Adult Voice Sites – after having 35 categories last year and a less than enthusiastic response for several.
"We considered the ones we had the least submissions for, and so we dropped those ones, and then we asked some of the guys [on the webmaster boards] which categories should we drop and which should we keep to make fewer categories," said Michael P, who added he got the inspiration for this awards show from the AVN Awards.
"Maybe next year we will add another one," he continued. "For our first year, 35 categories was a bit overwhelming, so this year we can have less bad space at the show and be more relaxed, take a break with the band, and then come back for another five categories and break again, and so on."
Sponsors as of this writing include YNOT, XBiz, 3X Web Design, and Progmatixxx, with further sponsorship opportunities still available, awards organizers said, announcing the ceremony and nominations.
Nominationswill be accepted through July 20, with the nominees to be announced five days later and judging beginning from there through the month of August. Those who wish to can apply to become judges; those chosen will have their photographs, short biographies, and links to their websites posted on the Best Adult Awards site's Judges page.
