"By offering the first on-line mobile-based adult magazine, we aim to give consumers the freshest and most in-demand, up-to-the-minute content on the planet... our aim is to program the idea as a one-stop magazine effectively positioning itself as a market leader in the adult entertainment services sector," sales director Martin Montague of Symbios, which developed the mobile magazine, said in a statement.

While mobile operators such as O2 U.K., Orange U.K., T-Mobile Germany, Spain's Telefonica Moviles, and Vodafone Portugal offer adult content services, and Italian operator Wind obtains up to 80 percent of its data revenues from its sex channel, dating and flirt Short Messaging Service (SMS) services, Symbios will offer only adult services with this mobile-based magazine.

"Increasingly, people live and work with a new set of habits regarding using the mobile phone, and with this in mind, we feel that the services will prove just as popular as the late-night subscription or traditional purchase method for adult material via news stands and TV channels," added Montague.

After the make their U.K. debut, Symbios plans to offer the mobile mag to other parts of the world, beginning with America. They also plan on building and publishing a portfolio of unique mobile-based programs aimed at consumer phone markets in the U.K., to provide licensed programs to other countries.
