Evil Angel has signed Belladonna to direct exclusively for them, after negotiating with Sineplex to release her from the five-year performance directing contract she signed with them in February. Terms of the agreement between Evil Angel and Sineplex have not been disclosed.
The contract is for directing only, not for performing. Belladonna will still be performing, although she as stated that she will be cutting down the amount of work she does for other companies.
At this year's AVN Awards Belladonna took home Best Female Supporting Actress, Best Girl/Girl Sex Scene in a film, Best Oral Sex Scene and Best Tease performance for her work in Evil Angel's Fashonistas.
"For her movies, she is at first primarily going to do girl/girl scenes, because I know she can do an incredible job with these, and eventually she will guys to her line. It really doesn't matter," said Evil Angel owner John Stagliano. "She is one of a kind, the most sexually intense and naturally beautiful performer in the adult business today. She is the female equivalent of Rocco Siffredi. It is her ability to bring out the best in her fellow performers that most impresses me."
Earlier this week Evil Angel announced that they had just signed Belladonna's on-again off-again fiancé Nacho Vidal to direct for them also, He is starting a new series Back 2 Evil, which will be released next month.
"She is 'standing by her man' - I'm sure you've heard that she and Nacho are 'engaged' and since Nacho has moved to Evil Angel...she of course wants stand by him and do the same - Evil is offering her a great deal and that's all I can say at this point. She has nothing bad to say about Sineplex though." April Storm, Belladonna's spokesperson, told AVN.com earlier this week.
Belladonna released her directorial debut, Bella's Perversions with Sineplex.
"We liked Bella here very much. There isn't a problem between us. We want to be fair, but we have put a lot of time, money and effort into this deal with promoting her and her videos," Sineplex General Manager Dave Gallegos said, explaining the negotiations with Evil Angel to obtain compensation for agreeing to release Belladonna for her contract.
At Evil Angel Belladonna will likely produce one video a month, but is allowed to take as long as necessary to get the video right.
"The one thing that we put first at Evil Angel is quality, and nothing will be rushed. She'll make plenty of money at one video every six weeks or more," said Stagliano.
As with all the producers at Evil Angel, Belladonna will own the movies she produces, but Stagliano warns, "Well, the videos better be good or they won't sell!"
