Belladonna Shattered on ABC?s Primetime Thursday

AVN Award-winning Belladonna's ascent to porn stardom will be the focus of a segment dedicated to the adult entertainment industry on ABC's Primetime Thursday tonight. A news crew from the show followed Belladonna around for the last two years to produce the segment. rnrn

The title of the segment is Shattered Lives. Mitzi Connett of Elegant Angel Productions worked extensively with Primetime's segment producer, Jason Rovou, since the program first contacted Connett's predecessor in 2001. "He watched Bella happy and smiling most of the time," she told AVN.com. "It's very strange they chose to use that for a title."rnrn

Rovou could not be reached for comment.rnrn

After a recent attack on the self-governance capability of the adult industry in the Los Angeles Times, a feature entitled Shattered Lives does not sound like it will be a pro-porn piece. Watch this space for a reaction story tomorrow morning.rn rn

"We are telling the story from the beginning of a young woman's entry into the world of porn . . . and how she determined at that point that getting into porn was the right choice for her," Primetime Thursday executive producer David Doss said. "You will see the way her attitudes about the business change and change again and again," he added. "She is very ambivalent about being in the business but also says how financially she is better off than if she made other choices."rnrn

Hosted by Diane Sawyer, the show will also interview Belladonna's mother - who disapproves of her daughter's career, but tries to be understanding. "I'm still struggling," she said. "There are some girls in that industry whose parents have totally disowned them. Even if we aren't close right now, Michelle knows I love her. And if she falls, I'm there to catch her." rnrn
