Tonight there will be two screenings of the short film Being Ron Jeremy, a comedy that spoofs Being John Malkovich, with each screening followed by a 20-minute question and answer session with the film's star, AVN Hall of Famer Ron Jeremy. The 40-minute film will be released with bonus footage that includes Jeremy’s stand-up act later this month in both VHS and DVD formats.
Being Ron Jeremy follows the tale of struggling comic Brian Pickles (played by Brian Burke, who also directs the film) who finds a portal into Ron Jeremy’s body. Unfortunately, when Pickles takes over Jeremy’s body he ruins Jeremy’s career as a porn star. Jeremy consults his friend Andy Dick (played by Andy Dick) and sets out to regain control of his body and his career.
“I haven’t seen it myself, Jeremy told AVN.com. "I’ve seen bits and pieces of it as it was being edited. What I saw was absolutely hysterical.”
Of course any project that involves the Hedgehog is likely to have plenty of porn stars in it. Teri Weigel, Gauge, Jacklyn Lick, Mary Carey, Kendra Jade, Alexandra Nice, Kira Eggers, Monique Dane and Kelly Fire Steele all appear in the film.
Another face that people inside the adult industry may recognize in Being Ron Jeremy is Rich Williams, who appeared as Bill Clinton at the 1997 AVN Awards Show.
Screenings will be shown at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. at the Laemmle's Sunset 5 Theatre at 8000 Sunset Blvd. No one under 17 will be admitted. Tickets are $8.
