Beate Uhse Partners with Daring Media Group

BARCELONA - Beate Uhse Group, owners of the largest chain of adult stores in Europe, has acquired adult content producer, Daring Media Group, to act as its newest subsidiary.

“We officially launched last October, and were immediately acquired by Beate Uhse after that,” Jonas Ramirez, head of sales for Daring, told AVN. “We’ll be releasing three titles a month, beginning this October.”

Based in Barcelona, Daring consists of a small group of adult industry veterans. The company produces content for a number of different platforms, including internet, IPTV, VOD, cable, satellite, mobile and DVD. Daring's partnership with Beate Uhse will make the company’s large content library available globally for the first time.

Daring has also recently recruited a number of European directors including Antonio Adamo, French glamor photographer Christophe Mourthé and English director Kendo, among others.

The company completed its first feature title, Roma, this month. The movie is a historical trilogy, directed by Adamo. Roma will premiere at the Venus Fair in Berlin in October.

According to Ramirez, Roma will be followed by Bondage Thoughts by Kendo and Wham Bam Ibiza, Sexx Trap, Sea Creatures Talent Hunting. In 2008, the company plans to increase its production schedule to four titles per month.

With over 330 shops in ten European countries, the Beate Uhse Group employs 1,500 people and has subsidiaries in 14 countries. The company has been on the German stock exchange since 1999.

“We’ve received very positive feedback from everybody in the industry, and all over the world,” said Ramirez. “Daring was formed by a group of professionals with years of experience in the field. We’re very motivated and there will be a lot of interesting deals coming up in the future….more news will follow shortly.”
