CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Industry veteran Barbara Olsen has been named general manager of Sin City following the departure of Scott Justice on Dec. 22.
"I think everyone has good feelings about it," Olsen told AVN. "We're going forward with a lot of good thoughts."
Olsen has worked in the adult industry since the late 1970s, and has overseen the Digital Media department at Sin City since 2003. "I'm very familiar with all of the people that Sin City's doing business with, and most of the people are familiar with me, so I'm feeling like it's going to be a very easy transition," she said.
With her experience handling the digital arm of the company, Olsen said she plans in her new position to "spread out our wings a little more into the other markets — VoD, the mobile areas, the cable areas. We're just putting our hands out into everything."
Sin City's first HD DVD release, Sodom 4, will be showcased at its suite and booth during the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo starting Wednesday, Olsen said, and as part of the title's promotion, the company will raffle off an HD DVD player to a convention-goer. Sodom 4 streets Jan. 17 in a two-disc set on both standard disc and HD DVD.
Though she had no comment on the cause of Scott Justice's exit from the company, Olsen said, "We all wish him well, and that he does whatever he wants to do and does it well in the future."
Moving into 2008, Olsen said, "We're looking to do more productions, and we're open to other producers coming in and submitting budgets and ideas. We invite other producers to come in and show us what they're doing, and talk to us about going forward and doing some productions together."
