‘Bachelor’ Star Rejects Playgirl Offer

NEW YORK—Reality show star Jake Pavelka has rejected an offer to pose nude in a pictorial spread in Playgirl, his spokesperson said today.

“Jake is not doing Playgirl—never considered it, never will,” Pavelka’s rep Janice Lee told Access Hollywood.

Playgirl approached Pavelka believing that the former The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars contestant would seek to capitalize on his fleeting 15 minutes of fame.

"We're determining the value of a shoot with Jake, who exemplifies our classic American guy at Playgirl,” company vice president Daniel Nardicio told PopEater.com. “It's obvious he likes the limelight, and I intuit that he looks good naked. Most people realize that reality show fame is fleeting and largely a dead end for the actors, so this is a way to extend that fame, and make a cute profit off of it."

Pavelka recently ended his engagement to The Bachelor winner Vienna Girardi who was embroiled in controversy herself this week.

Girardi allegedly told Star Magazine that she was in negotiations to be on a Playboy cover hoping to net a $250,000 pay day.

"I am going to be on the cover of Playboy later this year,” she told the gossip mag. “The Bachelor didn't pay me a dime, and I ran through my savings living with Jake. I need the money. And I want to do something fun and happy for myself."

Playboy was quick to rebut Girardi’s claim, saying that it hadn’t approached her.

“This is the first we’ve heard of Vienna Girardi appearing on the cover of Playboy,” said Playboy spokesperson Theresa M. Hennessey. “We are not in negotiations with her and have not made her an offer.”

Pavelka isn’t the first reality show contestant to be offered a spread in Playgirl. Earlier this year, the magazine offered Jon & Kate + 8 star Jon Gosselin $20,000 to pose nude, plus an additional $10,000 for each penis inch over four. He declined the offer.
