Babydol Gets Three Years on Three Counts

Jody "Babydol" Gibson, who was convicted last month on three counts of felony pimping, was sentenced to three years in prison by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lloyd M. Nash. Gibson who was on trial in Van Nuys Superior Court for operating an international call girl ring was denied bail pending appeal. In sentencing Gibson, Nash referred to her as "tragic and pathetic." Gibson's attorney Gerald V. Scotti said Nash was way out of line for issuing those personal sentiments. Scotti has continually pressed for a sentence of probation claiming that no one was victimized and that Gibson's was a garden-variety pimping case. Although Gibson's so-called black book was alleged to contain names of famous personalities some of whom were going to be subpoenaed, according to early reports, that did not occur.
