Traditionally, British prostitutes advertise in the familiar red telephone boxes - but now they're trolling for business on the Internet, Reuters says.
This new service is said to feature a traditional red phone box on its front page, offering "an array of girls" on what resemble old-fashioned business cards, with clients able to browse a menu of sexual options and even see a "card of the week."
Earlier this year, Reuters says, the British government ruled those caught putting up business cards for prostitutes in red telephone boxes could be fined up to US$1600 or up to two years behind bars. An estimated 150,000 cards are taken out of 700 central London phone boxes each week, while up to 14 million are pinned up every year, Reuters says.
By the way, this week's winning card promises: "Discipline and humiliation…for the discerning, obsequious gentleman."
