Australia Council Rejects Adult Development

Local city council has rejected development for an adult bookstore  because of what it is calling "the negative impact it could have on retail and residential area it would be built in," according to a recent report

Wangaratta mayor Don Joyce told ABC Regional Online the council has received legal advice that it can reject the development on those grounds.

Joyce went on to say that even if the shop were to be opened in another part of town, the council would not want it to go ahead.

"The community has certainly given us the message, I think it's the biggest number we've ever had in the gallery and we've got the message from the community that we represent that they don't want that facility, that type of business in Wangaratta," Joyce told ABC Regional Online.
