Arrow Productions Searches for a New Linda Lovelace

In 1972 Linda Lovelace stormed the nation with the release of Deep Throat, the most famous porn of all time. Something that most people forget is that Linda Lovelace was a character, not a person. A character that appeared in or was related to characters that were the basis for at least five more porn titles without Linda Marchiano, the woman who originally played that character.

“What happened was that the character’s name was so closely tied to her (Marchiano) that she became famous as Linda Lovelace. That’s what people knew her as. As long as she was tied to it, we weren’t going to tell her that she couldn’t use it,” Ray Pistol, owner of Arrow, the studio that owns the rights to Deep Throat.

Now Pistol is looking for a new Linda Lovelace for the first time in a decade to star in Deep Throat VII. “We need someone pretty with some acting ability. Ideally, she can deep throat already – but we can teach her how if we need to,” said Pistol.

There is no set hair color, height or shape requirement for the role of Lovelace. Pistol points out that in the six hardcore volumes of Deep Throat, a number of physiques and hair colors have played leads in the series.

The script, which Pistol describes as update of the original film, is already completed. No male lead or director has been chosen, but Pistol intends to launch production on the project as soon as he finds the right Lovelace. Deep Throat VII will be a high-end feature with scenes shot in Florida and either Las Vegas or Los Angeles.

Deep Throat VII will also be a part of Imagine Entertainment's documentary on Deep Throat that is currently under production. The documentary is supposed to be released by Universal next year to mainstream theatres nationwide. “Obviously, the Linda Lovelace for Deep Throat VII will appear in the documentary – and that’s going to end up being a lot of exposure,” Pistol said.
