A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old girl who swapped suggestive pictures through their cell phones and email have been sentenced to a month in jail.
Published reports said the couple likely was turned in when a friend of the girl, said to be jealous over her relationship, told authorities the pair were swapping pornographic images.
Police subsequently obtained a search warrant and arrest warrants, and after questioning the couple the authorities confirmed they had swapped the images in question, the reports continued. The pair was sentenced by the Dubai Court of First Instance.
Other Muslim countries like Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have similar strictures aimed at stopping cell phone owners from using camera-fitted phones for porn or peeping pictures.
