Antigua to Premiere Beach Patrol in High-Def

Antigua Pictures will premiere Buck Adams’ new feature Beach Patrol, the company’s first release in high-definition, on Friday afternoon at the company’s headquarters.

Beach Patrol will make its debut at 2 p.m. on a 4 ½ by 8-foot screen in the Antigua studio that will be turned into an intimate theater for the viewing.

Adams said Beach Patrol has similarities to the long-running Babewatch series that he made popular at Sin City in the mid-90s.

“But with 10 times the production value,” he told AVN.com. “We built the jet boat that the lifeguards ride on. We built the Quadrunners and the Jetskis. We labeled them and painted them the proper colors. It was a bit of an event. From all the years of shooting Babewatch, I learned all the tricks.”

Adams, who began the Beach Patrol project in August and was still in the early stages of the elaborate post-production process in October, said that getting to this point is more of a “relief” than anything.

“Those who come to this event we’re having on Friday will get to see this whole thing played on an HD DVD deck,” he said, noting that Panasonic has been working closely with Antigua and has supplied them with the technology.

The cast of Beach Patrol includes Ashley Long, Haley Paige, Trina Michaels, Isabella Camille, Lonnie Waters, Nicole Parks, Lisa Lee, Tommy Gunn, Dale DaBone and Christian.

Adams said that Long handled the Jetski “as well as any of the men.”

“And she did a great scene,” he added.

Adams and the Antigua Pictures/Fatt Entertainment crew also plan to display their HD cameras, editing equipment and decks at the premiere.

“We’re not afraid to tell people what we’ve learned,” he said. “I’m ecstatic about everything. I really am. … I’m an old film guy, but HD is the new dog on the block.”

While the premiere is scheduled to start at 2, an encore showing is slated for 5.
