Antigua Pictures Takes Deep Throat to France

Antigua Pictures has closed a deal to license the original Deep Throat movie to France.

Todd Blatt, CEO of Antigua, told AVN.com Friday that the 10-year deal is for all the French-speaking territories except French speaking Canada. Blatt said he had been working on the new agreement for several months.

“The gentleman who bought FMDA, Franciss Michkin, purchased the rights,” Blatt said. “I just finished delivering him all the materials. It’s pretty exciting. With the documentary Inside Deep Throat, now there is renewed interest in the original.”

Ray Pistol of Arrow Productions owns the rights to the original film, but he and Antigua have had an agreement on handling the foreign rights.

“Ray and I have been doing business for a really long time. He’s one of the last guys you can count on one hand who can follow through on his word,” Blatt said. “A lot of people come to me. A lot of the foreign buyers will come to me whenever there’s a deal. It’s just a long, open working relationship.”
