LOS ANGELES - AVN award-winning director Andrew Blake has announced the May 24 release of his latest self-touted "erotic masterpiece," entitled X.
Released through Blake’s Studio A Entertainment, X compiles 20 short 16mm films from the director's website Andrew Blake.com. According to a press release, Blake's new opus tackles "bold themes of bondage and release, public nudity and voyeuristic body worship."
Blake approached the film's sex scenes as "sophisticated 'home movies', produced with just myself as crew and the individual models," he said.
The director assembled a larger cast than usual for X, including Cytherea, Jelena Jensen, Aria Giovanni, Claudia Cavassa, Paola Rey, Katrina Kat, Dana DeArmond, Rebeca Linares, Maria Menendez, Jade Starr, Michelle Maylene, Faith Leon, Jade Starr, Melisande, and Yana Ke-M.
"Previously, I'd go out and shoot for a week or so with a core group of three or four leading ladies," Blake said. "Now, when I find a girl that interests me I'll shoot her immediately—instead of waiting for a concentrated shoot. It's more personal and improvisational, like a cinematic 'diary,' opening the sexuality to a larger spectrum of possibilities. Instead of an individual model becoming the focus, the dominant nature of the director becomes the 'star'."
Blake is currently filming new scenes for his website, working, he said, "with new models in high-fashion, fetish and retro situations." His next feature (tentatively titled X2) will feature scenes from his online collection.
