BARCELONA, Spain—Private Media Group's breakout film, An Open Invitation: A Real Swingers Party in San Francisco, was named one of the top three films of the year by The Night of the Senses 2011 Erotic Awards, as well as “Sexiest Straight Feature” in the Good For Her Feminist Porn Awards.
Nominated for 11 AVN Awards, with India Summer winning for Best Actress, An Open Invitation has been on the Best Sellers list since its release in 2010, receiving industry wide critical acclaim and accolades as the year’s best and most innovative film. Open represents the first in a new series of films focused on the growing couples and female audience by the new Private Independent Line.
“Open marks a significant cultural shift in the rapidly changing face of the traditional adult consumer from a male dominated audience to women and couples,” said Private Media Group Marketing Director Giles Hirst. “We are very proud of this film for its artistic portrayal of the new modern day relationship and the industry’s overwhelming positive response to it. Private will continue to expand on producing premium content for this important and growing audience.”
The 2011 Night of the Senses Erotic Ball celebrates its 24th year on Friday, May 20 at Pulse Super-Club in London from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. The Ball is a sexual carnival and erotic wonderland that celebrates sexual diversity, welcoming all genders and persuasions in a safe, unhurried, tolerant, joyful and fun environment.
“Uniquely,” say the organizers, “laughter blends with passion, beauty with disability, first-timers with old-timers, young and old admire each other, and everybody is made to feel at home.” Tickets can be purchased online, in select shops throughout London, as well as at the door.
The 2011 Feminist Porn Awards were hosted April 15 by Jane Luk and Ryan G. Hinds, both celebrated performers and personalities from Toronto. Over 450 guests gathered at the Berkeley Church to toast those creating erotic work that offers a new and exciting vision of porn that includes the political.
Starting in 2008, the Good For Her Feminist Porn Awards added a second night to their celebration: Public Provocative Porn: The Year’s Best in Feminist Film, giving audiences a chance to see more of these incredible films, as well as the opportunity to engage with filmmakers in a panel discussion and question and answer period.
Held at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto, over 300 people gathered to watch selections from Feminist Porn Award-nominated works and works in progress, including ArtCore and Sola by Carlos Batts, QueerPorn.TV with Drew Deveaux and Mickey Mod (directed by Tina Horn), Seven Minutes in Heaven 3: Fuck Yeah with Drew Deveaux and Sealu Sideshow (directed by Courtney Trouble) Oral Sex For Couples Volume 2: Orgasmic Cunnilingus, Anilingus and Fellatio by Jaiya, and work in progress clips from Mommy is Coming by Cheryl Dunye.
