American Hardcore Invades Ultra Festival

American Hardcore hosted its own tent for the Ultra Festival in Miami this past weekend. The Ultra Festival is part of the Winter Music Conference.

“Everyone from our demographic was at Ultra Fest,” said T.J. DiReda, co-owner of American Hardcore. “It was the largest part of the Winter Music Conference, and Spring Break was going on at the same time. There was a huge stage and we were just off the left of it.”

The conference, now in its 21st year, is a large networking event in the DJ and dance music industry, attracting professionals from over 60 different countries. The WMC boasts a high concentration of top international artists, DJs and industry professionals.

The co-sponsors for the oceanside, 40 x 40-foot American Hardcore tent included Von Dutch, Crunch, My Space, Budweiser, Absolut Vodka, and Ultra Records. The tent was hosted by Alexis Malone, along with Maxim models Jenny James and Tina Terio. Malone, James, Terio and AH co-owner Vic Thomas handed out American Hardcore posters and t-shirts.

The musical lineup for the evening boasted such acts as The Killers, Paul Van Dyke, Prodigy, Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox. Over 50,000 people attended the event.

“Obviously, it was a lot of fun.”
