Amateur Live Sex Broadcasts Catch on With Japanese Couples

Japanese couples appear to be warming to the idea of being filmed during sex and broadcasting it live online, a Japanese newspaper has reported.

"'Live Broadcast' has become something of an indispensable catchphrase for adult sites on the Internet nowadays," said Japanese Internet trend journalist Kazuya Mori to the Shukan Post.

"Live chats don't just involve people with cameras attached to their computers having online conversations where they can see each other, they also have naked women who'll obey every command male users give them, which has made the practice even more popular," Mori continued. "Then, you've also got other avenues of illegal live broadcasts from women's changing rooms. Unlike edited adult videos, live broadcasts of regular couples give off a sense of closeness that gives them greater appeal to users."

Some of the couples are even said to barter with so-called "love hotels," where the couples agree to let themselves be captured for live webcast while making love in return for no room cost and just 500 yen to cover laundry charges, the Post said.

Hosei University law professor Tatsuo Inamasu told the paper that what's worked in the blog world – more people unafraid to let the world know about their private lives – applies with lovers broadcasting their intimacies online, even amid rising concern about privacy invasion and leaked information that plague Internet users.

"It's the nature of the IT business. Since use of the Net became more widespread, there has been increasing worries about the protection of individual privacy and worries about leaked information," Inamasu told the Post.

"On the other hand, the proliferation of the Internet has also seen the rise of more people who want the world to know about their private lives," he continued. "That's been the whole basis behind the success of blogging. For some, broadcasting their lovemaking sessions may provide added thrills through the thought that they may have a potential audience of millions. It's clearly a feature of the Net world."
