AltMaker’s Ball Set for Saturday

San Francisco based sex shop Good Vibrations will present Max Power’s AltMaker’s Ball at the Empire Ballroom (3765 Las Vegas Blvd. South) in Las Vegas on Saturday. The event will be held in conjunction with the 24th Annual AVN Awards, and run from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Eon McKai, who heads up Vivid Alt, one of the sponsors of the event, told AVN.com that he sees the party as a way to show people that the audience for alt porn is continually growing. “We really want to show people that there is some unity to this scene, and that it’s getting bigger all the time.

McKai will be joined at the event by adult industry members Joanna Angel, Rob Rotten, Octavio Winkytiki, Kimberly Kane, Joe Gallant, Vena Virago, Dana DeArmond, Avy Lee Roth, Charlotte Stokely and several others.

McKai explained that Max Powers — an up-and-coming alt porn producer from San Francisco — has been active online for the last year, but wanted to get out there in the public and organize something big during AEE. “Max is the catalyst for the AltMakers Forum on our website…a place where we answer questions about the industry.”

Music will be provided by dj Tommie Sunshine, Cold Chains and Kid606. There will also be a burlesque performance by Satine Phoenix, a bondage performance by Princess Donna and Madison Young, porn star photo booth, palm readings and an x-rated raffle.

Powers has coupled with Good Vibrations, a sexuality product retailer based in San Francisco. For almost 30 years, Good Vibrations has been driven by its Mission Statement:

"Good Vibrations is a diverse, woman-focused retailer providing access to sex-positive products and accurate sex information through our clean and comfortable stores, catalog, and web site in order to enhance our customers' sex lives and to promote healthy attitudes about sex."

Additional sponsors include Fleshbot, Burning Angel and Punx Productions.

The party is open to the public. Industry members with AEE badges will get in free of charge while tickets for the event are available at www.wanttickets.com.
