Oakland, CA — Alpha Blue Archives Inc., a DVD label specializing in lost sex films of the '70s and '80s, has four new DVD releases featuring rare X-rated films by cult horror and erotic film director Ed Wood, Jr. The releases include Wood's films The Young Marrieds, Necromania, Nympho Cycler and The Undergraduate, plus each disc contains additional complete films featuring the main feature's starlet and other bonus features.
A video trailer for all four releases is available on the Alpha Blue Archives website.
Long believed to be a lost film, the ultra rare The Young Marrieds was directed and likely written by Wood near the end of his career. The XXX hardcore tale of marital frustrations features starlet Alice Friedland (The Killing of a Chinese Bookie) in one of her few explicit performances. The film is presented in a digital 16mm transfer alongside four additional Alice Friedland sex films and topped off with bonus scenes.
In the equally rare Nympho Cycler, Wood appears playing an abusive old cross-dresser who prostitutes his pretty young wife until she hits the road on her motorcycle, getting high and running into trouble with a vicious biker gang along the way. The film is presented in a digital 16mm transfer and includes three additional complete films starring nympho cycler Casey Larrain.
Wood's hokey horror/sex hybrid Necromania has young couple Rene Bond and Ric Lutz visiting necromancer Maria Arnold to help improve their love life. Shot in both soft and hardcore versions, the DVD contains a digital 16mm transfer of the softcore version, all of the alternate hardcore scenes, plus three rare films featuring sexy necromancer Maria Arnold.
Shot under the guise of being “educational” to avoid legal trouble, the laughably over-serious early XXX hardcore film The Undergraduate takes place in a sex-ed classroom and segues into explicit scenes with young starlets like Suzanne Fields and Eve Orlon. The disc also includes three additional rare Suzanne Fields films.
