Dirty Gloves, the creators of webmaster resource AllOfEm.com, have launched MainstreamWebmasters.com – a resource board that focuses on making money in the mainstream that is safe for Adult webmasters.
The e-commerce resource has more than 250 business articles, free webmaster tools, royalty-free image content for site building, site templates, more than 5,000 free file downloads, daily headlines, industry convention calendar, webmaster discussion forums, real-time chat room, blogs, more than 500 certified online training courses, a webmaster toplist, and a B2B banner exchange, among other things.
Harry Kenney, Dirty Gloves CEO, said the main intent of the board is to serve as a bridge for Adult webmasters into the mainstream world.
“Just today, I had one Adult webmaster who is posting on Mainstream Webmasters write me an e-mail saying how thrilled she was with the site, because she often felt nervous on other non-Adult forums, partly because it was still a relatively new experience and partly because she knew none of the faces,” Kenney told AVNOnline.com.
Over time, the goal is to have the board become a resource where mainstream-only Webmasters will also feel comfortable.
“Hopefully it will be a good mix,” Kenney said. “Some have said it may be a volatile one and that they don't think it will work. We think it can. Time will tell.”
In launching the venture, Dirty Gloves wanted to make a home away from home for Adult webmasters, but Kenney also explained that he sees a convergence both in general society and in online content, where the mainstream is getting more and more sexual.
However, when it comes down to it, the mainstream just doesn’t know how to make money like the Adult community does. Something Kenney finds ridiculous.
“In most cases mainstream has placed site building as their main focus and have totally forgotten that the goal of business is to make money,” he said.
“In short, mainstream needs some Adult webmaster attitude adjustment. They need to focus on the prize, which is profit – talk about conversions, marketing innovation, and customer retention, and not get lost in the mechanics of it all. I think Mainstream Webmasters will be the resource that puts the dollar signs back into e-commerce.”
