LOS ANGELES - Adultcon celebrated its 13th convention this weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center's 100,000 square foot South Hall, attracting 70 exhibitors, over 60 adult stars and over 16,000 fans.
The Adultcon Gold and Diamond necklaces were presented to the winners that missed the Adultcon Awards show: Sunny Lane, Courtney Cummz, Liv Wylder, Tera Patrick, Cindy Crawford and Travis Night.
Pulsating hip-hop music provided the soundtrack for droves of fans weaving through personalized booths, selling everything from an autograph and picture with a fan’s favorite porn performer to clothes, lingerie, pipes and novelties.
By day two, Adultcon organizer Renaud West told AVN that he was happy with the turnout so far. “The show looks really great. This space is pretty big, but we’ll definitely grow into it. As long as the companies are happy and the fans are happy, we’re happy.”
Talent booths could be split up between multiple performers or taken by one, as was the case with Sunny Lane. The always-perky starlet was selling, among other things, what she referred to as “the new Polaroid”: a laminated, personalized 8” x 10” picture with Lane. “Since it’s laminated, it’s pretty versatile, so people can throw it up on a wall or use for something like a mouse pad,” she explained.
According to Lane, her booth, ordained with all kinds of bright colors and flashing lights was designed to “be bright and sunny, just like me.”
“I really enjoy Adultcon because it’s all about the fans and not about making business deals,” said Lane. “It’s right here in LA and I get to talk with [the fans] and pose for photos which is really fun. It’s a really exciting time in my life and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I have a booth and of course I’ve been mingling with some friends over at SexZ Pictures and Not the Bradys XXX booth also.”
Not The Bradys XXX director Will Ryder said he was confident that they would sell all of the copies of the Brady sexual spoof they’d brought to the show. The company brought along some stars from the movie like Alana Evans (who plays Carol) and SexZ contract starlet Paulina James to sign autographs and take photos.
Asian beauty Gianna Lynn had her first Adultcon experience this past weekend, and if the volume of traffic around her booth was any indication, her presence was a very welcome addition.
“This is my first Adultcon, but it’s been a really great experience so far,” said Lynn. “I love to get out here and hang out with the fans.”
Nautica Thorn also saw no shortage of traffic around her booth. The exotic starlet is gearing up for the October release of Enter Nautica, her second Nautica Thorn Productions title distributed through LFP.
Zero Tolerance contract star Courtney Cummz appeared at the The Hottest Girl In Porn booth. As with Lynn, this was Cummz’ first time at the show.
“Paul from the Hottest Girl In Porn asked me to come out and I felt that this would be another opportunity to meet fans that voted for me to win the contest,” said Cummz. “And since I won an Adultcon award I thought it would be great to come out and show some love. It all fit together.”
For the fans, Adultcon continued its popular policy of admitting fans free on Saturday and Sunday if they pay on Friday. The $35 admitted fans all three days and included a free $5 Adultcon casino chip to spend in the show, free admission to the post-parties both nights at Rio strip club, free VOD from Hot Movies and free VOD from YAPPO.
As each of the three days ended, fans — which were a solid mix of both men and women — left the South Hall with smiles on their faces and plenty of autographed souvenirs.
