Adult Webmasters at Odds With Their Neighbors

“Filthy pornographers.”

That’s essentially what Jim and Jenni Deans’ neighbor called them when he found out they ran and shot amateur adult site TheHiddenWife.com. Funny thing is, they believe he discovered their second occupation by joining the site himself and recognizing features from the Deans’ home, where much of the site’s content is shot.

Despite having lived in their small suburban neighborhood for 12 years without incident, the Deans came home to a note on their door on Sept. 5 calling them perverts and telling them to get out of town. Jim later found diesel fuel in his hot tub and discovered flyers at their local grocery store asking for concerned citizens to protest in front of the Deans’ home.

“It’s absolute insanity,” Deans says. “We’ve always been good neighbors.”

The good news is that the initial instances of harassment seem to have died down. It’s quite possible the reason is that the Deans are selling their home, something that was planned before the harassment began.

Deans chuckles when he reveals that he and his wife are actually only moving a few blocks away. In addition, he said the support from the industry has been unbelievable.

“People who I’ve only met once at shows are calling and asking if they can do anything to help,” Deans says.

Although he says he wouldn’t be surprised to find protesters in front of his home, neither he nor his wife are ready to make any concessions to their persecutors.

“We’re not going to back down. We have a lot of fun with the site and we have every right to run it.”
