Adult Webmasters Can Turn To Offline Ads: Oceansmedia

If the competition in cyberspace is the crush that Oceansmedia says it is, adult Webmasters are beginning to shy away from the usual tricks of the trade and going a little more traditional, says Oceansmedia chief executive officer James Lindsay.

"Consumers are becoming jaded and numb to all the pop-ups, re-directed links and spam mail from adult companies trying to compete on the web," Lindsay said, adding that any search of "adult sex" on engines like Google is likely to turn up over four million results.

Oceansmedia is now offering advertising spots for adult film studios' DVD and VHS releases as well as making inroads into the adult Internet wherever adult Webmasters might be thinking of trying offline advertising, Lindsey said. "We have the ability to target the type of consumers who spend money on adult entertainment," he said.

One of their programs is what Lindsey calls "profit share" advertising: Oceansmedia takes up some of the advertising cost in exchange for a small share of the profits an ad generates. "It's a win-win for both parties" he said. "Profits have increased and our client's are more comfortable with putting out less money up front".
