FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.—Adult Trading Card Company, also known as ATCC, is a familiar brand to attendees of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. The adult merchandiser came on the scene in 2010 with a line of collector's cards that could be sold in adult stores or used by porn stars as a souvenir to sign for fans. The idea turned out to be a winner in more ways than one: ATCC picked up an AVN Award for Novelty Product of the Year.
Now, in 2013, ATCC has been acquired by a new group of investors. The official site, AdultTradingCardCompany.com, has been revamped and relaunched—it’s now user-friendly with a new image uploading and ordering process, which allows faster fullfilment and lower prices. And that's just the beginning, say the new owners.
The actual trading cards themselves are also going through a metamorphosis toward a sleek new look. The company has already introduced convention cards with a larger format that feature a dedicated autograph area to enhance a card’s value. Future products will include posters, calendars and even a line of blackjack playing cards.
Outgoing owner JP Berkman had this to say about the transition, “After three great years, I’ve decided to turn over ATCC to some great folks and they've got some exciting things planned. I want to thank everyone that has helped my vision for ATCC grow and succeed. Please continue to support ATCC.”
“We’re coming into this with a great foundation laid by JP,” said Casper Curtis, the company’s director of operations. “Throughout the acquisition process, we talked to performers, agents, publicists, photographers and fans to find out what they wanted and what would work best for them. With our industry connections and track record of producing quality products, we’re going to work hard to create multiple revenue opportunities for performers. We have several partnerships locked down for both marketing and distribution.”
This week, October 4-6, the new ATCC debuts at Exxxotica New Jersey. Adult performers Jacky Joy and Emily Austin will be signing in the ATCC booth the entire show and will have plenty of cards on hand to sign for fans. Karla Lane and Kiki D’Aire will also be joining them. Look for ATCC at more upcoming trade shows and events, including Comic-Con NYC.
