Police today were still investigating the robbery of an adult store by a man who claimed he had a gun.
Police told KVTZ-TV last week that a man walked into the Pleasure World adult video store and demanded money from the clerk, claiming he had a gun in his jacket. The man then took the cash and escaped by the time police arrived.
The suspect, who was seen on surveillance video, is said to be white, between 5 feet 11 to six feet tall with a medium to large build and with long, stringy brown hair.
The incident comes about a year after the store’s owners struggled with the city to receive its permit to operate there. The city had originally denied its business permit after neighbors complained, but ultimately relented when officials realized they had little option but to approve the permit due to concerns about potential free speech violations.
