CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Adult Source Media is looking at a September release date for their new CG animated feature, Pleasure Island.
Known for producing and distributing 2D adult Japanese anime, the studio ventured into CG animation last December with Pinks, the debut release from its 3D production arm. Island is the brainchild of ASM president Wendy Crawford.
"Pleasure Island is a story about people from different back grounds being marooned on a seemingly deserted island," Crawford told AVN. "They begin to do things a bit out of there character and relent to their emotions and sexual desires. Even their bodies begin to evolve. The story and the sex are just steaming."
According to Crawford, Island took a year to produce and delivers the studio's most eye-popping animation to date. "This is the best 3D we have done," she said. "I can't wait to share it with everyone. After doing Pinks, which is set at night, I was really looking forward to doing something with a lot of color. Suddenly, a tropical paradise theme came to me. I must need an island vacation."
Crawford sees the ongoing success of animated Hollywood movies as beneficial to the adult animation market.
"As the mainstream fan base grows for 3D so does the adult fan base," she said. "I'm glad we are the pioneers of bringing this genre to the adult community. I expect that we will expand the animation demographic to encompass a new group of fans."
