Adult Retailer Faces Two Obscenity Charges for Selling Adult Novelties

Kansas is another state that classifies dildos and other adult novelties as “obscene devices” as Terry Yarbrough, who manages an adult retail store in Ellsworth County recently learned.

Ellsworth County prosecutors filed charges against Yarbrough on January 5 for promoting obscenity and possessing obscenity with intent to sell. Yarbrough manages the After Dark Video store outlet located just two miles outside of the city of Wilson.

Yarbrough’s trial will begin of February 4.

Sources close to the case say that the “obscene” items in question were adult novelties, not videos.

After Dark Video opened their doors in July of last year, converting a gas station alongside Interstate Highway 70 at exit for Wilson. The gas station reportedly had sold videos and adult novelties as well, but far less than After Dark Video.

A group of citizens based in Wilson have been photographing truck drivers who entered the store, threatening to send the photographs to the employers of the truck drivers.

Joanne Webb, a woman who works with Passion Parties, a company that sells adult novelties in a fashion similar to Tupperware parties, currently faces similar charges for a similar law in Texas.
