A billboard promoting adult online store and production company Adam & Eve and located near a Hamilton high school was expected to come down Feb. 12.
The takedown was due to complaints from local parents who logged onto the site having seen the benign-looking billboard and were shocked to discover adult material, according to the Toronto Globe and Mail.
Pattison Outdoor owns the billboard and told the paper there wasn't anything wrong with the ad itself, which featured the slogan "put a party in your pants." Pattison spokesman Ron Barr told reporters the company doesn't have control over the Website listed on the ad, but he agreed to pull the billboard over community concerns.
Three other billboards around Hamilton display the Adam & Eve ad, but Barr told the Globe those would stay where they are for now.
Adam & Eve spokesperson Katy Zvolerin was unavailable for comment before this story went to press.
