AZ Child Workers Disciplined Over Net, Email

Ten workers attached to the Arizona Department of Economic Security's Child Protective Services were disciplined for Internet or email abuse in the past three and a half months.

The workers "ranged across various job classifications. I can't tell you specifically what the material involved," said spokeswoman Liz Barker to reporters over the weekend, but she did say specifically what it did not involve—child porn.

"None of it was sexually explicit material involving children," she was quoted as saying.

Without divulging details, Barker told reporters the disciplinary actions ranged from reprimands to dismissals, with those not fired warned to stop. She added she was limited in what she could disclose by state privacy rules involving personnel.
