AVNONLINE ON THE RISE 200603 - WeConvert

A couple of college kids build some AVS sites, make a little money, and the rest is history.

It seems like I’ve heard this story before, but while it was the impetus for the formation of WeConvert, it certainly isn’t the whole story. Dave Rosen and Roy Paron have grown from their AVS roots to form the program behind the increasingly popular single-girl site Princess Cameron. Although the little blonde nymph has recently become their calling card, there’s much more to WeConvert.

Rosen teamed up with Paron, who then was running United Pimps, in 2004 to launch WeConvert, after taking a post-college detour as a financial adviser. They started with mega-sites, recording a hit with video-based Fuck Plex, which was regarded by Richard’s Realm as one of the top movies sites of the year. Although most of their content is repurposed studio fare, WeConvert scored when Cameron walked through the door of their Scottsdale, Ariz., offices looking for a job in early 2005. Princess Cameron is now the company’s best-selling site, which has precipitated the duo’s latest direction.

After consulting with local single-girl-site heavyweights Lightspeed Cash, Bimini Bucks, and Wifeys World, Rosen and Paron decided to shift their focus to producing more single-girl sites and created a talent agency to do just that.

“We’ve seen too many solo sites pop up recently with sub-par talent,” Rosen says. “We won’t pursue a model who we wouldn’t bet a kidney will convert.”

Wagering vital organs notwithstanding, WeConvert has other things up its sleeve, like its own template-driven content management system, which developer Paron hopes will compete with the big boys in the marketplace.

“Webmasters can say goodbye to the cryptic templating systems you see in the top adult apps,” he says.

With a diverse array of sites, an eye for talent, and bit of technical know-how, there’s not much not to like about WeConvert.
