AVN Tapped to Manage Adult Novelty Manufacturer’s Expo

The Adult Novelty Manufacturer’s Expo (ANME) announced today it would operate under the management of AVN’s Event Division, the Adult industry’s leading event management company.

ANME was founded in 1996 by a group of industry leaders as a way to showcase their products and services, over the years becoming the premiere business-to-business tradeshow for the adult novelty industry.

The adult novelty marketplace is a large segment of the Adult industry, and adult novelties are a mainstay of adult bookstores, “romance” stores and online retailers.

ANME decided to make a managerial change when it became apparent that differences with the show’s previous management company could not be resolved.

Susan Colvin of California Exotic Novelties, Ron Braverman of Doc Johnson, Elliot Schwartz of Nasstoys, and Scott Tucker of Topco Sales, the heads of the adult novelty companies that founded ANME, are excited about the continuing prospects of bringing the novelty manufacturers together in Los Angeles and promise that special surprises are in store for this summer’s event.

In addition to overseeing ANME, AVN also manages Erotica Los Angeles and Internext, and serves as the headline sponsor of the Adult Entertainment Expo.

The adult novelty industry is already a key component of AVN’s publishing portfolio. In January 2005, AVN will introduce a new quarterly publication, Adult Novelty Business.

“We are very excited to extend our position in the adult novelty arena and to bring our event management expertise to ANME,” said Darren Roberts, AVN’s COO. “We have a shared vision with ANME to help manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers buy, sell, market and merchandise adult novelty products.”

The ANME 2005 Expo will be held next summer. The dates will be announced shortly. The event is held every year at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, California.
