AVN Industry Summit Gains Momentum

Adult Video News (AVN) will sponsor the first AVN Industry Summit this September 25-27, at the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, Calif. The summit is designed to bring leading adult industry studios, distributors and buyers together for three days of business discussions, information sharing and networking. Home Entertainment Events is organizing the conference.

“The AVN Summit will give exhibitors an opportunity to meet with the industry's top buyers through pre-scheduled meetings to focus on business,” said show manager. “It’s also an informal setting, so it will be an opportunity to enjoy the desert sun as well.”

According to AVN, the summit has already gained a long list of committed exhibitors, including Vivid/Club Jenna/Teravision, Hustler, VCA, Adam & Eve, Wicked Pictures, Digital Playground, Red Light District, Metro, Evil Angel, Nectar Entertainment, Extreme, Pure Play Media, Zero Tolerance, Smash Pictures and Devil’s Film). In addition, a considerable amount of buyers have committed, including IVD, Direct Distributors, Goalie, GVA Cleveland, GVA Michigan, AAA News, Juicy, Premiere Sales and Shinders.

"AVN has proven that they can put on very successful conventions," said Wicked Pictures President Steve Orenstein. "Years ago they created industry conferences as well, which I thought were well done. I'm glad to see them combine both formats and look forward to it being very beneficial to all involved."

“The list of exhibitors and buyers is growing every day,” Gibson said.

“We’re definitely looking forward to seeing all the buyers and participating in the summit,” said Howard Levine, national sales manager for Vivid Entertainment Group.

Gibson stressed that the three-day, industry-only executive conference is designed to facilitate meetings between leading adult entertainment suppliers and buyers and provide valuable networking opportunities. The summit will begin with a golf tournament at 9 a.m., Monday, September 25. The comprehensive conference program will also feature seminars, the first of which will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday. The seminar sessions will be on a range of topics such as piracy, digital delivery, high-definition media, legal and regulatory issues, mobile entertainment, human resources management and strategic planning. The opening day will be rounded out with a cocktail reception and dinner. Tuesday and Wednesday will be filled with exhibitor meetings.

“With emerging technology constantly creating new dynamics in the industry and more adult product available for sale than ever, it made a lot of sense to create an industry-only conference that will allow leading producers, distributors, and buyers to meet in a format designed to make the most efficient and productive use of their time,” said Paul Fishbein, publisher of AVN.

Gibson added, “The conference program portion of the retreat is designed to provide the latest information on business and technology developments that impact our industry. But it won’t be all work and no play. As with any good summit, we’ll start off the event with some fun networking opportunities."

A second Adult Industry Summit and Retreat will take place in on the East Coast in Spring 2007.

The next AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will take place Wednesday, Jan. 10 to Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.
