Due to demand, AVN will now be publishing the Top 50 Weekly Rentals and Sales for the AVN Retail Buzz section on AVN.com. The list has previously been of the Top 25 releases. The new additions will take effect on the chart that goes live this Friday evening.
“Due to popular demand, we are increasing the Retail Buzz to a Top 50 each week,” said AVN president Paul Fishbein. “We have increased the number of retailers who are reporting each week, and with a record number of new releases coming out, we thought it would help the industry track the top renting and selling DVD’s.”
The weekly list serves as a tool for production companies, distributors and retailers. It is based on rental figures from traditional retailers and sales from traditional and on-line retailers. The chart also reflects a movie's ranking from the previous week as well as how many weeks it has been on the list, or if it's a new entry.
This week Wicked Pictures' Curse Eternal occupies the No. 1 slot.
