ASACP Needs Internext Volunteers

Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) is looking for booth volunteers for the coming Internext trade expo in Hollywood, Florida.

Volunteers will be chosen from Sponsors and Approved Members first, and then from among others who support ASACP's mission, according to executive director Joan Irvine.

"It's a great way to meet people you want to do business with," said Rainey Stricklin of Women In Adult, herself an ASACP booth volunteer at the 2003 Internext. "I volunteered… last year, wearing my company's logo, and was able to do some good for both parties."

ASACP is also bringing its new promotional flyer – "How Clean Is Your Traffic?", which touts its new compliance system including the company logos of ASACP sponsors – to Internext. The compliance system includes 24/7 verification of ASACP Code of Ethics compliance, Web spidering to catch affiliates which may have "unacceptable" traffic-attracting terminology, and informing members of noncompliant affiliates using their affiliates for billing purposes.

The flyer premiered at Cybernet Expo in San Diego earlier this month. Irvine said, however, that those planning to become sponsors and want their information on the flyers and booth sign for Internext Hollywood "need to make their commitment this week."

Founding, Title, and Corporate ASACP sponsors also get their logos on the ASACP booth sign for Internext, the monthly ASACP ads in AVN Online, AVN, and Klixxx, and on the ASACP ad in the Internext show guides and show bags. They also appear on the ASACP Website's sponsor page, which Irvine says is good for about 25,000 unique hits a month.

"In August ASACP will introduce major enhancements to its new Compliance/Membership system," Irvine said in an announcement. "ASACP will monitor your affiliate traffic and you will have access to the ‘How Clean is Your Traffic’ report to verify that your affiliates are not using ‘unacceptable’ terms that denote child pornography to direct traffic to your program.

"We will alert you if the ASACP hotline receives a report that one of your affiliates is using your paysite program to receive payment for child pornography," she continued. "In addition to protecting your business, this may help reduce charge-backs as some people may be expecting younger content than your company offers to its members."
