ARIZONA MULLING NUDE AND LAP-DANCING

State lawmakers here are pondering doing statewide what Tampa has tried to do just in its own city - keep strippers from total nude dancing or lap dancing.

A bill introduced in the state House of Representatives would stop strippers from dancing fully nude or "depicting certain sexual acts," as well as keep strippers at least three feet away from customers and 18 or more inches above the floor.

The bill goes to the full House after its Feb. 2 endorsement by a committee.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Marilyn Jarrett (R-Mesa), puts it plainly: "We don't want any touching to take place." The limits would eliminate all-nude clubs and table and lap dancing at many topless clubs, says the Associated Press. An attorney for three nude clubs, Michael DiCavalcante, says the bill is a bid to wipe out an entire class of business, the AP says.
