LOS ANGELES—The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) plans to hold a panel this Sunday, April 3 that will educate and orient performers who are new to the adult industry.
“We are so exited for this opportunity to meet with performers who are just starting out,” said APAC president Chanel Preston. “The point of this panel is to create a safe, comfortable and friendly environment where new performers can learn the tricks of the trade from veteran professionals. I want to include some of the information I wish I had known when I was just starting out myself!"
The panel will cover a wide range of topics, including how to prepare and what to expect during shoots, and how to navigate health issues and the testing system. Veterans will also offer tips on financial troubleshooting, such as finding a sex-work-friendly bank.
APAC welcomes all current and former adult film performers to the meeting, which will take place in the Los Angeles area. Membership is encouraged, but not required in order to attend. For information on attending, performers can contact APAC directly by email at [email protected].
Performers who are unable to attend are invited to watch the Porn 101 video for helpful information and tips about starting out in the industry.
The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee seeks to improve working conditions in the adult film industry by giving adult performers organized representation in matters that affect their health, safety and community.
