ANOTHER FLA ADULT CLUB LAW BASED ON LIES?

Even as the Tampa City Council was giving its second approval to a lap dancing ban, a consultant to several Pasco County-area adult clubs was filing a complaint against a former assistant county attorney, for using illegal tactics to move against the clubs.

Consultant R. Bruce McLaughlin has filed against R.C. Burnette and is asking the state attorney to charge him with breaking Florida's public records law and making false statements to county commissioners. Himself a zoning expert, according to the St. Petersburg Times, McLaughlin claims commissioners passed new adult club restrictions based on deliberate misrepresentations by Burnette.

He claims Burnette withheld public records and falsely led commissioners to believe there was a Detroit study which that city used in enacting its own adult use laws - which, he says, Detroit officials themselves have told him they can't find, either.
