AIM Health Care Goes National

Dr. Sharon Mitchell, Ph.D., seems exhausted. It’s evident that Mitchell, the executive director of the AIM Health Care Foundation, is both completely occupied and very excited by the facility's many recent upgrades, which include new websites and a nationwide, online database.

Mitchell explained that beginning this week, patients are now able to utilize a new, independent database that allows AIM, or Adult Industry Medical, to give users draw stations throughout the United States. As she put it, “patients simply log onto aim-med.org and click on ‘pay online’ and pick up results.” Users will then be directed into the new database, AIMCheck.org site.

“This is a big shift for us,” continued Mitchell, “because in the past we were just working out of one laboratory. We were only local, and talent wouldn’t be able to pick up their results if they went out of the immediate area. If girls went on the road, they would have to have their blood shipped back here to Los Angeles, and be charged extra shipping and draw fees, which can be costly.”

Mitchell told AVN.com that if talent is testing outside California, the cost is $180 for the AIM 3, HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea test. Other tests are available as well, such as Syphillis and Hepatitis. Testing in-state for talent is $120.

“We will then give them directions to the nearest draw station. Results will be available for talent and producers in one to three business days. They can log onto AIMCheck and pick up their own results, or results pertinent for 2257 records.

“The systems are really easy to use,” said Mitchell. “We can provide a hard copy at our California locations as well, if people prefer… hard copies really insure a test’s validity.”

Mitchell also explained that current company passwords would not change, but the log-on address, however, will; it will now be aim-med.org, or aimcheck.org.

LabDat.com, Mitchell said, will only be available for historical tests for the next 25 days. “So if people need to obtain their records for 2257 reasons, we urge them to get them together before the cut-off date.

Mitchell also said that AIM has additionally created SXCheck.com — which can be accessed at aim-med.org as well — to provide services for people outside of the adult entertainment industry. “We’re constantly hearing from sexually active people that are not in the industry, but still want our services,” said Mitchell, “and now we can provide people all over the U.S. with the same testing advantages that the porn stars have.

“It's simple, and has a quick turnaround time. All test results will be delivered by SXCheck and AIM verified by our CLIA and ASCP certified laboratories."

Mitchell seems confident about the future and AIM’s expansion. She said that the healthcare group even has plans of expanding globally in the coming months. “We will hopefully expand to Europe by the end of the year,” she said.

“Even in the last few days we’ve seen a big increase in people using our services… and we’re really happy with the recent upgrades. We just ask that people please bear with us for the next few weeks, as we go through all these changes.

“We hope people enjoy our new patient-friendly services, and of course, stay healthy.”
