AIM Awarded Federal Grant

profit Homeless Outreach Program. "This will be for some nationally-appropriated funds for the industry for testing, assessment and drug treatment," Mitchell says.

"The Homeless Outreach Program focuses primarily on African-Americans, but then again we have a good third of our clientele who are African Americans," Mitchell added." I felt it would be a good opportunity to put the money to good use for the whole industry in various areas. This would be grant money, and would also employ actual members of the community to do outreach. We've talked to Santino Lee and Kitty Korner, a newcomer; I've approached Sean Michaels to see if anyone in his company would be interested. This would be paid time. It would be a good way to get more information about drug, alcohol and HIV treatment out there, and make treatment available anytime we needed it. There's times when people hit bottom, that they don't have the insurance or the money left to get into a treatment program. This program, would be allotted for that.

"We're having a meeting here, Friday, with some of the members of the adult community and members of the African-American community so we can see who wants to join," Mitchell added.
