LAS VEGAS—The second day of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo always blasts off the energy of the show into the stratosphere. It’s the first day fans are admitted to the show after a trade-only day yesterday—and they showed up in droves.
While the show floor was admittedly scaled down this year in terms of square footage, it was clear from the moment fans streamed into the Sands Expo Center that the economy and online piracy had no effect on their enthusiasm to meet the biggest and brightest stars in adult entertainment.
The fans’ energy pulsated throughtout the entire show floor from the throngs of attendees enjoying the pole dancers at the Fleshlight booth to the agape mouths at the Clips4Sale.com booth during one of it’s many fetish demonstrations with Ashley Fires.
Dominating the show floor were a series of impressive displays with great, giant graphics and swanky booths from Bluebird Films, Mile High Media, Digital Playground, Hustler Video, Wicked Pictures, Jules Jordan Video, Evil Angel, Fleshlight, Fyre TV, Girlfriends Films and Exquisite Productions.
Not to be outdone, AVN Media Network also had a bevy of beauties meeting-and-greeting including 2010 Penthouse Pet of the Year Taylor Vixen, Justine Joli, Raven Alexis, Wendy Williams, Joslyn James, Cece Stone, Diamond Kitty, Joanna Angel, Brooklyn Bailey, Marie McCray and more.
“I wasn’t expecting today to get so busy so quickly—I ran out of 8-by-10s within an hour and a half,” Vixen told AVN. “It also was really flattering that many fans brought my Pet of the Year issue for me to autograph. That showed they really came to see me.”
Adam & Eve, who had stars Alexis Ford, Tori Black, Alexis Ford and Nina Hartley signing at the AVN booth, cut an impressive showing, particularly with the promotion of “choose-your-own-adventure” movie Killer Bodies and the Ford vehicle, Home Improvement XXX: A Parody.
Legendary performer, sex educator and author Hartley told AVN that tomorrow marks her 27th year in the business to the day. She reminisced about working on her first movie with the late John Leslie and meeting Sean Michaels during his first day in the business.
“The business certainly has changed in many ways and I’m truly lucky to be doing something I love for more than a quarter century, she said. “In 2011 I plan on doing more cam shows, more mainstream endeavors like University speaking, comedy and spoken word performances; I’m looking for a [mainstream] agent. I also plan to continue performing.”
Hartley also mentioned that her website, Nina.com, will be operated by Mile High Media beginning in March.
Celebrities spotted walking the floor included AVN Awards host Lisa Lampanelli, former WWE wrestler Kimo and TV host Art Mann.
The exclusive stars of Wicked Pictures cut edgy figures in their rocker-chic garb. The full coterie of Wicked Girls were in attendance including Stormy Daniels, Kaylani Lei, Lupe Fuentes, Kirsten Price, Alektra Blue and Jessica Drake who all signed slick jumbo posters of themselves outfitted in sexy black lingerie.
With The Rocki Whore Picture Show coming out soon Wicked and director Brad Armstrong have slated an ambitious slate of parody films to go into production. A spoof on Risky Business is the first one up with Kirsten Price playing the role Rebecca De Mornay made famous.
Later in the Spring, Armstrong will tackle the Harry Potter franchise with his own “pornic” interpretation and updated timeline to the tale. The director plans to hold an open casting call for the movie.
"In our version, we'll meet Harry as an adult, years after Hogwarts,” said the director. “As we pick up the story, he's a Criss Angel-style magician working in New York."
Pint-sized starlet Lupe Fuentes entertained long lines during her signing times. The Spanish star just launched her own garment line, Sexy Little Angel, intended for petite women, and at 4-foot-9 and barely 90 pounds, its probably safe to say Fuentes is the perfect specimen to debut such a line.
The FyreTV stage, situated right next to the AVN booth, also clogged the aisles with scalding hot promo models and entertaining stage shows. Wicked Girl Drake hosted a panel that featured a selection of Best New Starlet nominees and brand-new girls including Raven Alexis, Gracie Glam, Amy Brooke and Jessie Andrews.
Red-head sensation Dani Jensen was representing VSEX.com, a site where the user controls a machine-mounted dildo and can select from number of live girls to use it on in private chat.
“The technology behind the site is really amazing,” she told AVN. “The user truly controls how the dildo fucks the girl. The speed, the direction of the penetration—I’ve had plenty of huge orgasms from it.”
The Jules Jordan booth—a truly massive structure with an elevated platform—boasted arguable the biggest lines of the Expo. At one point we counted more than 50 people on line each for Lisa Ann, Gina Lynn, Amia Miley, Jessica Jaymes, Bree Olsen, Rachel Starr and Jenna Haze.
Digital Playground, swaddled inbetween Hustler Video and Wicked Pictures created a buzz among consumers not only because its gorgeous contract stars were signing, but also because it debuted the teaser trailer for Top Guns, its upcoming airborne epic starring Jesse Jane and Kayden Kross as rival fighter pilots. Digital Playground co-founder Joone was spotted beaming as he played the video clip, which boasts authentic jets and incredible special effects.
Crowds remained thick until the Expo closed at 6 p.m. with many fans talking about attending the next two days to meet as many stars as possible.
“I’ve come to this show because quite simply it has the most stars and the most fan-friendly environment,” Bill W. of Skokie Ill. told AVN. “The girls are so friendly and accomodating; I don’t feel rushed, and I’ve just always made it a point to schedule vacation time around the show.”
The Adult Entertainment Expo continues tomorrow and Sunday with the 2011 AVN Awards taking place tomorrow night at the Palms Casino Resort hosted by Lisa Lampanelli, Tori Black and Riley Steele.
