AEBN Signs Exclusive Deal with La Societe Libertaine

Newly founded production company La Societe Libertaine has launched its first project, Shibari Fumo Ryu, a series of instructional Japanese bondage movies, and Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network has acquired exclusive broadcasting rights to the groundbreaking series.

This is the first-ever, made-outside-Japan project that covers a complete series of instructional movies about the art of Japanese bondage, La Societe says. The series is based on the groundbreaking Shibari Fumo Ryu e-books by Dutch Shibari performer and teacher Hans Meijer. He and his partner Mirjam are the hosts of the series.

The e-books were published on the Internet in 2000 and have found a worldwide audience since then. Meijer has performed in the U.S. and across Europe. He was also the subject of a one-hour television documentary by Dutch television network BNN, which aired on Dutch national mainstream television in 2005.

Meijer is considered a pioneer and one of the first to bring the erotic and spiritual art of Shibari to a Western audience. Meijer has studied the art of Japanese bondage for 35 years and, in addition to the e-books, has written extensively about the subject in publications worldwide.

“AEBN considers it an honor to have Hans working with us and giving us this opportunity to have his movies exclusively,” says Daphne Reeder, AEBN's global press liaison. “He's renowned for his skill and has spoken at lectures around the globe. We feel his work spans more than the adult realm, as his movies are informative and insightful.”

The first two movies, together covering parts 1 through 4 of the series, will be available in late May through the AEBN network.
