Company owner Mitchell Spinelli says, "2005 is going to be the year Acid Rain gets the word out." Along with new lines such as I Love 'M Asian (currently with only one volume), featuring Katsumi, Charmane Starr, Avena Lee and Mika Tan, Acid Rain plans to market itself through merchandise such as posters and t-shirts, club dates and sending actresses on the road for store signings.
ADAM & EVE PRODUCTIONS
In 2005, the company plans to push farther into mainstream markets, having arranged for product and logo placements in two Hollywood movies, at least one of which will come out this year. They are also actively seeking roles for contract star Carmen Luvana in mainstream productions. Carmen will continue to appear in both Adam & Eve productions as well as working for Nicholas Steele's Ultimate Pictures, whose latest release, Snow Job, has had excellent pre-orders. Building on the news of their revamped, large-size catalog, the company plans to expand their mail-order division into foreign markets, particularly Canada and Latin America. Adam & Eve is also offering franchises for their company-branded retail stores, which currently have five locations in North Carolina and one set to open shortly in the Jacksonville, Fla. area. The stores are boutique style, with lingerie and similar items offered in the front, and adult novelties and videos/DVDs in a restricted area in the rear.
ADULT SOURCE MEDIA
This brand new company has struck a deal with Japan's leading anime company, Hot Storm, for the North American distribution of top selling anime titles. Japan's highest selling anime series Daiakuji Xena Buster will make its North American debut, with Adult Source Media releasing one episode a month from the eight-part series Angelcore, another top selling series, which will hit the street in early February. "We're so excited to bring these incredible uncensored animation titles to America for the very first time. The quality and action is above and beyond anything out there. As it already has a huge fan base, exposing new people to this type of erotica is not only exciting but fulfilling," says Adult Source Media owner Wendy Crawford.

2005 Goal: Continue acquiring the best and most explicit Hentai for distribution in the U.S. and North America. Anime 18 is focusing their energy on providing the fans with the mature entertainment they are requesting and deserve. In the year 2005, A18 Corp will be debuting its new "value line" of adult anime. "With this line we expect to see phenomenal growth and capture a larger share of that segment of the market," a company spokesman offered.
ANABOLIC VIDEO
They'll be premiering Anabolic Adult Toys at AEE - their first novelty line, a big deal. They have some new series debuting in 2005: Alexis Amore's Lascivious Latinas and Tony T's I Want to Be Face-Fucked. Tony T is now directing the Balls Deep line started by Lex Steele. Sal Genoa is "raising the bar" with his Artcore line. They're looking for great things from all their "highly motivated" directors; the others are Suzanne Alexander, Chico Wang and Robbie Fischer. ANARCHY PICTURES
Anarchy National Sales Manager and Python Pictures owner, James Melendy said, "My forecast for 2005 will be a lot of the same: I will continue with my interactive DVD line Playing With; I will still do my young girl series, What Daddy Doesn't Know, More Anal Fevers and Stinkers (anal lines). More Border Hoppers (Latin line) and Banzai (Asian line). I will just get a little harder: more d.p.s, more multiple partners just better gonzos than I did in 2004. All in all, everything did very, very well, but I know we can do better. For Python Pictures, I want to increase the company's releases. I would like to be up to four a month by the end of 2005. Titles like No Cum Spitting, Creamed, Twisted, XXX Rated and Porn Star should all have significant volumes by the end of the year. I would also like to do more with Allan Smithee who debuts with my Street Walkers line (a reality-based porn); he focuses on the streets of L.A. like Sunset and Sepulveda Blvds., picking up hookers, shot all in POV. The first one comes out in late 2004, so by June, I hope to have five of that series out," Melendy promised.

Antigua will be releasing two big features in HD, directed by Buck Adams. First comes Beach Patrol, early in the year, followed in June by A.G.P. (All Girl Protection), which Adams describes as "Babe Watch on steroids." (See also FATT ENTERTAINMENT.)
ARROW PRODUCTIONS
The Las Vegas-based company has no current plans for new productions, but will continue to mine its archives for classics to release on DVD such as Bella, Heavenly Desires, Pleasure Island, Lialeh (the first black-produced XXX film), as well as Bill Margold's Immorals series, whose fourth volume will feature an in-depth interview with its creator. Arrow has also acquired the rights to the Gourmet Classic line, a collection of one-hour movies with classic stars like Blondi and Christy Canyon, which will start releasing on DVD in the spring.
ASTRUX
Formed in 2001 as a post-production company doing high-end video editing for Wicked, Anabolic/Diabolic, Video Team and most recently Platinum X, Astrux moved into full-time production in early 2004 with a debut release, Up in Da Club LA, launched in June of 2004 at Erotica L.A. The movie featured a $3 million custom Mercedes Benz CLK GTR Roadster, of which Mercedes manufactured only one for the U.S. market. Astrux also inked a non-exclusive contract with AVN 2004 Performer of the Year nominee, Taylor Rain. Recently, Astrux chose an exclusive distribution deal with industry giant Metro Interactive. Up in Da Club Vegas will be the next installment in the series, followed by Teenage Anal Rock Star. (See also METRO.)

Longtime amateur maven Joe Elliott - or Professor Joe as he's known to the countless Bay Area coeds he's talked into disrobing for his camera - will continue shooting his latest series, the AVN Award-nominated Amateur College Cuties. Flush with the success of its latest release, Tight & Tuned - "Fast & Furious" style import cars and even faster women - the company will be concentrating on promoting its several best-selling brands. These include: Blue Coyote Pictures, which will be expanding its Natural Wonders imprint into big-boob-themed features with hooks such as girls in uniforms, girls with glasses, "girl next door," MILFs, etc. Taylor Wane Entertainment will release a boxed set of three interactive titles featuring Taylor as a nurse, secretary and French maid. Jim Malibu Productions will debut Gangbangs of Lisa Sparxx, the fourth in its Gangbangs of ... series, at the convention, with more volumes expected in 2005. Gia Darling Entertainment's titular owner will be experimenting with more themed transsexual releases such as its recent Transsexual Nurses and Hip-Hop Heartbreakers. Third World Media will be continuing their very successful Asian, Latin and transsexual lines. Tranny series, in general, are doing well for the company, which will continue to release Androgeny Productions' Transsexual Beauty Queens, Grooby Productions' She-Male Yum series, and Joanna Jet Productions' upcoming titles. Also doing well is a recent acquisition, Klimax9's Black Attack Gangbang series. Bob's Video releases in his all-girl Platinum edition line (distributed by Avalon): Isabella's Flame, with Isabella and Penny Flame; followed in the spring by Lesbian Love Story, with Phoenix Ray and Loni; and his first interracial production, still untitled, with Vanessa Blue and Tanya Danielle. Also, new releases in his House of Legs line and Bob's Hardworking Secx (secretaries) line. In April is his "10th anniversary filming trip" to L.A. (he lives in Cape Cod). He's also picking up the pace of releasing more of his catalogue (200 titles) on DVD.

Baby Doll is considering releasing harder product in 2005 under a new banner called Baby Doll Extreme. Sales manager Carolyn Ward is overseeing the growth of Baby Doll, which released over 50 features in 2004 and more than 50 four-hour compilations.
BACK END PRODUCTIONS
"We will continue to manufacture quality adult movies while continually increasing our output of titles onto the marketplace," says Calvin Howard, vice president of the new production company. "We'll continue to support and develop our directors and talent to allow them to become the best at what they do. We will continue to bring the fans of adult entertainment the excitement they crave and deserve with special events such as our Erotica Boxing, among many other planned events." Erotica Boxing is a new line featuring naked female boxing matches and hardcore sex. The first volumes are set to be released in mid-January. Howard says that Back End plans to increase its Web presence in 2005, has recently redone its Website, backendfilms.com, and will continue to offer talent residuals on all features shot for the company. "Overall, during the course of 2005, Back End will keep striving to increase the brand awareness of our image and products among fans, consumers, buyers and the industry itself," Howard says.

The fetish giant's merger with Jill Kelly Productions will continue to pay dividends in 2005, Bizarre owner Keith Gordon says. For one thing, it enables Bizarre, which has relocated from New York to sunny Southern California as part of the consolidation, to put JKP contract girls, including Jenna Haze and Tyler Faith, in its titles. That in turn results in those productions reaching a wider audience and hence selling more copies. "It gets us a lot of customers that we never had before," Gordon says. Bizarre will also have a higher profile at AVN's Adult Entertainment Expo this year, thanks to sharing its booth with JKP. Still, some things never change. Just as it always has, Bizarre will continue to release four new titles a month, but now, as many companies are doing, they will be DVD only. "And we're still the leading fetish company in the world," Gordon notes.
BLACK MIRROR PRODUCTIONS
Joe Gallant, founder of "Manhattan's porn company," says Black Mirror plans a variety of innovative projects in 2005. Ghost Town, NYC's first porn-reality DVD series, features Gotham newcomers and visiting Porn Valley vets, and is slated for a February release. Potty Mouth, meanwhile, will reprise its kinky A2M/enema action with several new volumes. Other upcoming projects include Atomic Skullfuck Orgy, a postmodern, ultra-kinky reworking of the Patty Hearst kidnapping saga, and the long-planned political/vampire porn thriller Bloodlust, starring the immortal Jamie Gillis. "Good times ahead!" Gallant promises.
BLACK WIDOW PRODUCTIONS
Black Widow, the exclusive North American distributor of John Thompson's German Goo Girls, will expand its distribution to include other series. The company will also be moving into a larger warehouse in North Hollywood to store Black Widow's growing list of titles. Ric Williams, president, said that buyers are flooded with calls from new companies, but they'll only deal with suppliers they know and trust, such as Black Widow. The company is uniquely positioned globally to handle high-quality product and will be actively looking for domestic and foreign productions.

Caballero Pictures is launching a big campaign to bring back numerous classics that have never been available on DVD, and in some cases even VHS. Sales manager Dick Lane said the company was preparing between 250 to 300 new classics. The company also just released eight new 4-packs, and has plans to release another 10 to 20 4- and 6-packs, featuring such classic stars as John Holmes and Seka. Lane said that Caballero is also launching a new label in January called Fever Films, which will release two to four high-quality gonzo movies per month featuring fresh talent. Blue Pictures will focus on strictly she-male, gay and bisexual product. "We're also staying competitive in the comp area," Lane said.
CHERRY BOXXX
Cherry Boxxx at press time was in preliminary negotiations to distribute an ultra high-tech line of anime productions. Cherry Boxxx co-owner Allen Gold, formerly the vice president of VCA Interactive, said the type of anime they are looking into is very realistic. "We're going to continue to use new, fresh girls on a regular basis. We're always in search of the next Cherry Boxxx girl." He said that director Rick Davis would continue to be their ace-in-the-hole, as he shares the majority of the directing duties with veteran shot-caller Dale Jordan. Gold indicated that Cherry Boxxx would get gradually more hardcore with its product, showcasing some d.p.s and other nasty sex acts. He said he is considering releasing the harder material under the Cherry Boxxx Hardcore imprint. Gold told AVN that Cherry Boxxx released over 150 titles in 2004, not counting the 10 four-hour compilations that he also ships on a monthly basis. "Thanks to all our customers for supporting us, and we look forward to bringing you more cherries," Gold said. Our reality genre content is of really high production value, contrary to the preconceived notion that Reality content is amateurish at best." In 2005 they'll be shipping eight titles a month.

Said Fred Wilson, Darkside's general manager, "They shoot stuff right in the streets in Compton, something we couldn't do by ourselves." Nicky Starks is producing the line that will release in January. "We're very excited about it," Wilson said. The series will feature pro-am performers and a lot of original music. Byron Long will continue to direct the Tenderonis series, which is due to release the fifth edition in February, and the In Tha' Thick series, which Starks started. Meanwhile, Darkside will attempt to raise its profile with its continued advertising in black magazines such as XXL and Black Men. Mr. Marcus directs an interracial line, Made for Hardcore, which will be up to the fourth volume in February, as well for Darkside.

With high hopes (and great advance sales) for their 65 Guy Cream Pie, releasing in January, the company plans to mine its library to produce more 5-packs of their popular four-hour comps, which sales manager Bonnie Kail says sell "incredibly well." The new 5-packs will be themed from the company's most popular series, Teen Tryouts, Gangland and Transsexual Prostitutes - and they'll be "priced to sell"! Also new at the Expo will be two-hour comps drawn from various series but with themes like anal, oral, etc. The company has no plans to begin any new series this year.

At press time, he admitted he may, though he was quick to point out he will continue to perform in at least a dozen scenes per month and maybe more if needed.
EVIL ANGEL
"The Evil Empire's overall plan is to stay #1 and to keep our great directors happy and creative," says Evil Angel's Jeff Marton and Rick Hall. As for the company's individual directors, EA founder John Stagliano wants to make another film (his last, The Fashionistas, dominated the AVN 2003 Awards Show) at some point, but for the foreseeable future, he plans to concentrate on making Fashionistas: The Show a Las Vegas success story. "And don't think that you've seen the last of Buttman," Marton noted. Rocco Siffredi has already shot most of his 2005 releases. They include Rocco Meats Trinity; two new lines: Rocco's Nasty Tails and an as-yet untitled domination series wherein both men and women submit; and another yet-to-be-titled production shot in Ibiza. In February, John Leslie will release the double comp disc The Voyeur's Best Anal Blond Cocksuckers, featuring Silvia Saint, Nikki Anderson and two brand new scenes. In May, Leslie is slated to fly back to Budapest to shoot more scenes. Christoph Clark is excited about his new Euro Domination line, which explores more fetish-oriented sex while keeping the emphasis very anal (the first volume is a Spotlight Pick in this issue).
