A Successful Debut For Private Stars

Private Media Group's new TV series, Private Stars, has had a successful U.K. debut, airing on satellite and cable TV in August with total daily viewing figures for the show reaching 100,000.

The show has spurred a great deal of media interest, with the Sunday Telegraph newspaper noting that the show "promises to go further than other reality programs.”

The series puts five male porn-star wannabes to the test with a group of professional porn actresses, to see whether any of the men has what it takes to make it in the adult industry.

Private Stars offers a unique insight into the real lives of porn stars. The series’ subjects live under 24-hour surveillance in a specially prepared house, with cameras capturing everything.

Subjects fall into two categories: established female porn stars and keen—but raw—male newcomers. In a twist that confounds the accusation that porn exploits women, the female stars wield total power over the fates of the male newcomers.

Berth Milton, Private Media Group president and CEO, said, "The reality show format is a proven formula in today's television landscape. Private Stars is the real thing, and will attract significant audience attention through its upfront presentation of what is ultimately the biggest interest-generator in reality TV."
